Rescuing A Dislocated IOL with 30 G Needle and Yamane Technique

Title:  Rescuing A Dislocated IOL with 30 G Needle and Yamane Technique
Author: Austin S. Nakatsuka, MD
Date: 08/11/2025
Brief Description: This is a surgical video showing how I rescue or stabilize a dislocated intraocular lens (IOL) with a pars plana bent 30 gauge needle. It is a very simple technique used to “lift” a lens into the position needed to grasp it with micro-instruments and bring the lens into the anterior chamber where it can be safely removed from the eye without dropping into the vitreous cavity.
