Brief Description: This is a Streamline (New World Medical) and Istent (Glaukos Corp) combined procedure video. I use the streamline/istent combo for many MIGS cases where I’m trying to get good iop control, prevent glaucoma, and decrease drop burden for glaucoma. The Streamline is a device that inserts small amounts of viscoelastic in the Schlemm’s canal, effectively creating a goniotomy/canaloplasty where the canal is dilated by viscoelastic. Then the istent is implanted to retain an opening through the trabecular meshwork and allow continuous aqueous fluid flow into the canal. I like this technique because it is very low risk and typically has very little post operative bleeding (hyphema) after the case. I have found it to be very effective with the right patient population.
